Executive Director - Cate Steane
Cate Steane has been FESCO’s Executive Director since January 2008 and has 17 years of experience in the nonprofit field. She is responsible for the organization’s fund development, annual budget, long-term planning, board and leadership volunteer development, community and government relations, marketing, administration, facilities, and program oversight. She serves on the FEMA Emergency Food and Shelter Program Local Board for Alameda County, the Emergency and Transitional Housing Committee of EveryOne Home, and is a member of the Hayward Rotary. Before coming to FESCO, Cate was the Director of Operations for Rubicon Programs and the Jewish Vocational Service (JVS), and the Director of Personnel and Administration for the Chinatown Community Development Center. An attorney by training, Cate is a graduate of Yale Law School and Boston College. She was a Jesuit Volunteer, a Commissioner of the San Francisco Rent Board, and served on the Board of the Housing Rights Committee of San Francisco.
Program Director - Carla Belle
Carla
Belle has been FESCO's Program Director since August 2010 and has 14
years experience in the nonprofit field. She is responsible for the
organization’s program development, facilities, and property management.
Before coming to FESCO, Carla was the Director of Property Management
for Mary Elizabeth Inn, Director of Housing Compliance and Case
Management Services at Seminole Mental Health and Manager of Case
Management Services for the Salvation Army Florida. Carla is currently
completing her internship hours for her Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology at
Saybrook Graduate School and Research Center. She has previously served
on the Mental Health Board for Seminole County, Florida, prior to
working in non profits. Carla was a Forensic Psychology Specialist for
Seminole County, working with juvenile and adult detainees.
Clinical Supervisor - Katie Johnson, MFT
Katie
Johnson, MFT has been with FESCO since July 2005 and has been licensed
since 2003. She has been working with children and their families in the
nonprofit sector since 1998. Her specialty includes working with abused
and traumatized children as well as coaching parents on how to manage
noncompliant behaviors in young children. She supervises MFT interns at
FESCO. Her previous nonprofit experience includes working at domestic
violence shelters. Katie’s affiliations include the Executive Board of
the California Association for Play Therapy and the California
Association of Marriage and Family Therapists (CAMFT).
Grants Administrator - Rebecca Walden
Rebecca
Walden has been with FESCO since June, 2008. Her responsibilities
include grant reporting to government and private funders, assembling
proposals for submission to prospective funders, and working with staff
to assure that FESCO complies with all grant requirements. Rebecca came
to FESCO after a 25-year career as an attorney and as an Adjunct
Professor in a graduate business program in San Francisco. In addition
to her JD degree, she holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology and a
Masters in Taxation. She serves on the Performance Management
Committee of EveryOne Home, Alameda County’s road map for ending
homelessness.
